Thoughts for this week
In a world full of abundance, yet unevenly distributed, it's time to shift our perspective on AI from potential negatives to the boundless possibilities it offers. As we envision a future where AI minimizes the undesirable aspects of life and enhances our experiences, we unlock its true potential for good. By focusing on manifesting our ideal AI-driven world, we can shape our experience of reality and create a brighter, more equitable future. These videos delve deeper into the transformative power of AI, as we remember the words from the landmark paper that ignited the AI revolution: "Attention is all you need" – a subtle reminder that our focus can truly change the world.

This is so beautiful.
asteroid we are building ourselves :
It’s a choice to be happy. As I see the rate of change, I don’t know if this world will be here the way it is a year from now, it brings me into the Moment, I appreciate so many things now https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkx9hN6AiKaFBXznuYOIwX-CSdx0sffdgHm…

Let's shift our perspective on #AI: Instead of dwelling on potential negatives, let's concentrate on the possibilities it offers. As I spoke to people in San Francisco, I noticed a common thread: they were concerned about AI taking away what they love. So, let's change the conversation to what we WANT AI to do for us. Envision a future where AI reduces the undesirable aspects of life & enhances our experiences. Remember, most things we see or use today were once just someone's imagination. What we imagine, we create. It's crucial to identify AI's potential risks, but once we do, we must focus on manifesting our desires. By giving attention to our ideal AI-driven world, we shape our experience of reality. Just like the landmark paper that ignited the AI revolution, "Attention is all you need" - a subtle reminder that our focus can truly change the world. #PositiveAI Design in Tech Report 2023: Design and Artificial Intelligence with John Maeda | SXSW 2023 https://youtube.com/watch?v=mPmNBNPtpBc
"If your main concern from AGI is that you might lose your job to a robot, then your vision of what the future will be like might be too parochial." -> our expectations should be calibrated to the magnitude of the event
Timnit Gebru: Eugenics and the Promise of Utopia through AGI
Transhumanism, rooted in eugenics and dating back to a 1927 book titled 'Religion Without Revelation,' was introduced as a secular religion. With connections to #transhumanism, extropianism, singularitarianism, cosmism, Rationalism, Effective Altruism & longtermism, it's crucial to examine how eugenicist ideas might affect top AI researchers' perspectives on egalitarianism. In a world with the potential for abundance, we must question whether everyone is granted equal opportunity. Let's critically assess these ideologies and ensure that our pursuit of progress is grounded in ethics and equality for all.
